Katy & Kevin’s Flagstaff Arboretum Wedding and Thornagers Reception

We get the impression that Katy and Kevin laugh a lot together. This had to be one of the most easy-going couple’s we’ve photographed and right in our own backyard! We chose a beautiful Flagstaff field with fall color for the first look but there were “prickers” sticking to all of us. I kept apologizing for the inconvenience of it all but being a biologist, Kevin laughed and said, “it’s not their fault, they are just trying to mate with us.” That attitude was appreciated and continued throughout the day. This couple has had many adventures in eight years together, and their wedding was no exception. We were able to get some shots with the iconic rooftop sign at the Monte Vista Hotel, which played into the theme, “keep it local.” These guys chose all local Flagstaff vendors from the dress to the photography, they kept it local and we’re glad they did. One of my favorite little details was the “mad lib” sheet that was at every place setting. I’m sure Katy & Kevin are still laughing about those responses.
