Grand Canyon Wedding Proposal and Engagement Story
We love a Grand Canyon wedding proposal and engagement shoots. Dustin took advantage of a trip he and his girlfriend already had planned out west to pop the question to Erin. He called the studio to get our best tips and find out if we could, in fact, capture the actual proposal at the Grand Canyon. We loved this idea! It was so fun to anticipate the big moment when Dustin got down on one knee and asked Erin to be his wife. We have always wanted to photograph an actual proposal (Jamelle’s husband Jeff actually proposed at the Grand Canyon). We made all sorts of arrangements to take advantage of the perfect light and setting. All our plans were foiled because Monday turned into 70mph winds and freezing cold temperatures. We had to go to “plan B” which involved some texting and fancy footwork rescheduling. I bet Dustin was getting anxious having to put the proposal off another day but we were determined to make great photos anyway. I thought we would be sacrificing the sweet sunset light but it turned out that amazing clouds formed that morning which gave us perfect light at noon! Erin was totally and completely surprised when Dustin popped the question as Jamelle and I played the incognito “tourists.” After she said yes, she changed into a better outfit for their engagement photos and we took them to all our favorite spots. It’s always really fun to photograph an engagement session right after a real proposal because the couple is literally so giddy and in love that it shows through all the photos. It’s a very romantic time and both Erin and Dustin were beaming the whole session. Check out their Igiddy “we just got engaged” smiles! We had so much fun with this easy-going and sweet couple and we wish them a lifetime of happiness. Kudos to Dustin for planning a special proposal for his future wife.
