L’Auberge de Sedona and Tlaquepaque Southwest wedding
Sarah and Ben live in Flagstaff and I run into them at various parties or social gatherings…Ben and I have bikes in common, which puts us in the mountain biking social circle. It’s a small town! Fast forward to February’s Sedona Bridal Show, sponsored by the Wedding Chronicle. I was so thrilled to see Ben and Sarah browsing at the show…AND Sarah admitted she was hoping to have me shoot their wedding. How exciting. THEN, as if by magic, Ben and Sarah WON the grand prize at the Sedona Bridal Show– an entire wedding-give-away featuring cameron + kelly studios as the photographers. I thought the floral design was very Arizona unique, kudos to Garage by Ivy for the design. I really loved all the use of the succulents. The creekside lawn at L’Auberge de Sedona was their ceremony site, which was gorgeous and shaded the guests from a typically hot season in Sedona. Calle Independencia in Tlaquepaque provided a very southwestern style backdrop for out-of-town guests (Sarah hails from Flagstaff whereas Ben is from the east coast). The food provided by Heartline Cafe was delicious– loved the enchiladas, Phyllis. The first shot below is of their “first look” — a really precious moment when the bride and groom can opt to see each other for the first time prior to the ceremony. First looks are popular when you have an evening wedding or a winter event, when the sunset is earlier. I ask all my clients about a little background info on their relationship and I just had to share this tidbit: From Ben: “We designed the theme of the wedding around the unsung sides of the southwest; the blue skies, the green of succulents, the clean air that we enjoy in this beautiful place. We truly fell in love in Mexico during a three month period of travel there shortly after our relationship began. When we began planning our wedding we wanted to share that romance with our guests. Our first date was at the Grand Canyon and lasted about 14 hours and when we said good night I knew that I had found the love of my life…” Cheers to Sarah and Ben! ~Cameron
